Kim Mitchell

30+ years experience in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry

I commenced my career in the Hospitality Industry in purposely built family businesses and later partnered with my Dad in various Hospitality projects.

I had a great affinity during this time to teach and mentor skills to others hence moved naturally into consulting and training roles for the past 10 years. In 2012 I was lucky to travel to East Timor to select students for a pilot internship program which was extremely successful and pulls a heart string to this day. I have an affection for diverse programs and assisting Venue’s to build strong teams to combat the ever changing Hospitality environment. Being trained in Commercial Cookery after many frustrations in our own businesses has given me hands on experience in the need for diversity within any kitchen and running front of house teams for many years previous to that gave what I believe a balanced set of skills to ensure a solid outcome.

I feel the answer is somewhat simple in the building of a dynamic team so once understood can strengthen business in such a positive way. Hospitality is such a broad Industry and if you’ve been in it long you will know a chef is not just someone in checkered pants and their range of skills or lack of them can be hard to get right.
