The company was recognised in Category B of the Australia-Latin America Business Council Awards, which highlight organisations driving trade and investment links between Australia and Latin America.
MMMigration & Recruitment was selected as a finalist in Category B of the 2026 Australian-Latin Business Excellence Awards, for organisations with between 20 and 100 employees. Presented by the Australia – Latin America Business Council (ALABC) since 2002, the awards recognise companies, institutions, and individuals that excel at doing business in the region.

A judging panel of ALABC Directors assessed applications against five criteria: strategy, business growth, innovation, environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, and commitment to Latin America. Winners were announced on 23 September at the ALABC Melbourne Annual Dinner, held at the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV).

Almost 20 years connecting talent

Founded in Sydney in 2007 by Melanie Macfarne, MMMigration & Recruitment now operates offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Colombia, Mexico and Chile. The company has supported more than 10,000 clients across student, skill and employer-sponsored visa pathways, and helps Australian businesses access international talent to address skill shortages.

More than 60% of the team is from Latin America, and services are delivered in Spanish, English and Portuguese. The company has four OMARA registered migration agents.

A growing community

Almost 279,000 people born in South America, Central America and Mexico live in Australia today, according to the latest estimates from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), published in April 2026 with data to June 2025. The South America-born population has grown 41% since 2021, led by the Brazilian, Colombian and Chilean communities. These professionals and students contribute to key sectors including hospitality, childcare, construction, engineering and professional services.

Recognition and commitment

MMMigration & Recruitment thanks Kim Prior, CEO of ALABC, for her leadership in strengthening relations between Australia and Latin America, and for giving visibility to the initiatives that connect both regions.

The company congratulates this year’s winners and all participants, and reaffirms its commitment to strengthening ties between South America and Australia. We look forward to the 2027 edition.
