Visado temporal por falta de cualificación (subclase 482)
This visa, referred to now as the TSS visa, enables employers to address labour shortages by bringing in genuinely skilled workers where they cannot source an appropriately skilled Australian. It facilitates targeted use of overseas workers to address temporary skill shortages, while ensuring that Australian workers get priority. TSS visa holders can work in Australia in their nominated occupation for their approved sponsor under one of three streams:
- Short-term stream, medium-term stream and labour agreement stream. All streams require at least two years’ experience in the nominated occupation, mandatory work experience, a positive skill assessment and for the longer-term streams – tightened English language requirements.
Criterios de elegibilidad
- Applicants with occupations on the Short-Term Skilled Occupations List (STSOL) are eligible for visas of up to two years, which are renewable once for a further two years, but do not provide a pathway to permanent residence.
- Those on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) can apply for up to four years, with eligibility for permanent residence after three years. This visa requires an English language band score of 5 overall and minimum 5 in each component of the International English Language Testing service.
- The Labour agreement stream is available if your employer wishes to sponsor you (as an overseas worker) and has entered into a labour agreement with the Department. This applies when a demonstrated need cannot be met in the Australian labour market and standard visa programs are not available.
